~ wiggles preemie baby blankie ~

Materials:
- 4-ply worsted weight acrylic (I used Herrschners Worsted 8)
   - 8 oz. off-white for blanket
   - various colors for wiggles
- I hook

Size:  21" x 24"

Notes: 
- I crochet tight so you may need to adjust the size of your hook
- you can make this blanket any size you would like - just make sure to chain an odd number of chains

Directions:
Row 1:  With off-white ch 95, dc in 4th chain from hook.  Dc in each ch across.  Turn.  (93 dc)

Rows 2 - 3:  Ch 3, dc in each dc across, dc in top of beginning ch 3.  Turn.

Row 4:  Ch 4, skip next dc, dc in next dc.  *ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc.  Repeat from * across.  Turn.

Row 5:  Ch 3, dc in each dc and ch 1 space across.  Dc in 3rd ch of beginning ch 4.  Turn.

Rows 6 - 7:  Ch 3, dc in each dc across, dc in top of beginning ch 3.  Turn.

Rows 8 - 39:  Repeat Rows 4 - 7.  At end of Row 39, end off.

- for wiggles (on dc, ch 1 rows):

Join color with a sl st around 1st st, 3 dc around same st.  *Turn, 4 dc around next st.  Repeat from * across.  End off.


- for edging:

Join off-white with a sc in any corner, (ch 2, sc) in same corner. Sc evenly around with (sc, ch 2, sc) in each corner stitch, and a ch 3 to skip a wiggles row.

  27. Hi there! Just had a question for row 4. I dc in the last dc and I'm left with the chain space from the previous row. Does this count as a stitch or will the rows even out? Also, in the chain, skipping 4 Ch will not result in 93 dc. I had to start in the 2nd Ch. :) I love this pattern & have a person who wants to give it as a gift!

    1. Hi Jess. You have to count the 1st 3 chains as a dc. I re-worked the starting chain this morning - I chained 95, worked a dc in the 4th ch from the hook, and then worked a dc in each of the remaining chs. I ended up with 93 dc's. (92 dc plus the beginning ch 3)

      For Row 4 - the chain 4 is counted as a dc and 1 ch. You will start by chaining 4, skip the next dc, and then dc in the next dc.

  28. I know you have had this posted for a while, but I just came across it and loved it! I have the base made but am really struggling to get the wiggles made. Can you give me more instruction or send me somewhere to help me with these! Please and thank you!!!

    1. Did you get the wiggles figured out yet? I will try to explain as best I could because when I looked at the wiggles instructions it was rather confusing to me when it said Turn. 4 dc in next st. Here's what she means by turn. You do not turn the blanket from front to back....you are turning the blanket at an angle and entering the next stitch from the opposite side of the stitch....for example you do a sl st around the first outside st, entering the stitch from the left, then do 3 dc around the same stitch. Then you move onto the next stitch (which is actually one of the dc ((looks like a post)). You would turn your blanket so as to enter the next stitch from the right of the stitch or post and then proceed to do 4 dc, then the next stitch you would enter from the left of the stitch and do another 4 dc and so on. Hope this makes sense. If you have any more questions about this or if I could explain it better by sending you pics, email me at bbailey001122@aol.com and I will see if I can help you more. It really is beautiful once its accomplished. I am in the process of working on the blanket now. I am not finished with it as I just came across this pattern too and thot I would give it a try.

    1. Item in photo is what the pattern is - it's just sideways in the photo. There is no ripple version.

    2. There actually is a facebook page featuring a link, and when I follow that link, it links to your page. However, the above comment by Debra Drayton is correct, there IS a beautiful ripple version of tyour pattern on the very first fb page. I have snipped a photo of it, but can't figure out how to post picture to you. Ultimately it links to your original pattern, but you seem unfamiliar with a "ripple" format. :)

    1. You can make this blanket any size you would like - just make sure to chain an odd number of chains, and then repeat Rows 4 to 7 for however many times you would like. :)
